Balay Lampirong: House Council 2011-2012
Batch 2011-2012: House Council
Where is our sexy adviser? |
Modesty aside, Balay Lampirong
has always been known for being the dorm with the most events. True enough, an
event wouldn’t be successful without the participation of the dormers, and of
course the people behind it. At the start of the semester, the dormers are
given the chance to choose the people they think that deserve and are capable
to decide whether their first year in the dorm would be memorable or not.The House Council Officers Batch 2011 - 2012 are Jenny Boy Villalva
as President, Khristian Mark Donguines as Secretary General, Ana Marie Grace
Macahilas as Liaison Officer, Lorie Lacson and Jose Maria Paolo Santos as
Finance Officers for Girls and Boys, Dawn Marie Castro (yours truly) as Annex
Wing Representative, Christia Ulson as Lower Wing Girls Representative, Mia
Juan Loa as Upper Wing Girls Representative, Alvin Maghopoy as Lower Wing Boys
Representative, and Ace Marc Tutor as Upper Wing Boys Representative. We also
have our Associates, Mark Allan Rezaga for the Lower Wing Boys and Aubrey Julianne
Tumala for the Upper Wing Girls. Under the supervision of our dear adviser Dan
Aleias Cayabyab.
We are people with creative and crazy minds. Coming from different
backgrounds, we unexpectedly jived well as time went by. Whenever meetings are
held, the mini-library becomes a kitchen of ideas where we act as cooks that
meticulously choose and think of ingredients that would make the events we
serve as interesting and enjoyable as possible. Besides the traditional ones,
we thought of other activities in which to make the dormers’ stay in the dorm
more memorable. We were the first to spearhead the “House Cup” that enflamed
the dormers spirit of competition and of course, united the dormers even more.
Originally, meetings should be done formally in order to tackle all
the important details, but there are times when we just enjoy ourselves and do
music videos and other stuffs. Of course, it is not only happy moments that
happen between the council. Misunderstandings are normal, but we do our best to
fix things as quickly as possible. At the end of the day, we still come up with
great ideas.
The House Council Officers Batch 2011 – 2012 continued the legacy of
greatness of the former batches. (Hindi ko lang sinasabi to dahil part ako nang
house council pero, I believe, we didn’t let the alumni and the dormers down
naman with the way we handled the activities.) Personally, being part of the
House Council was a very life-changing experience. I learned how to balance my
time and most of all to prioritize. I also learned to put others needs’ before
mine.
Cheers to all of us for a successful and unforgettable year! XD
Ow! There's our sexy adviser. |
p.s. we could post our Judas Video and MMPs cgro. ;)

Annex Wing 2011-2012
(Inspired by our Final MMP)
ANNEX WING
BY DAWNIIIITA
Masayahin. Makulit. Maiingay. Magulo. Madrama. Kakaiba. These are just some of the words that can be used to describe the Annex Wing Girls. Okay lang naman siguro if magta-taglish ako since this is a blog and dapat expressive. Haha.
The Annex Wing Girls are from Rooms 1 – 5. I became the Annex Wing Rep dahil pinag-usapan na naming ahead of time. Wala na nga akong kalaban eh. At first, I thought na it would be an easy job, but hindi ko pala talaga alam ang pinasukan ko. But with the help of my very supportive girls, we got through it together.
Yung Room 1, Sila Erlie, Sophia, Sela, at Denn na pinalitan ni Chai nung second sem. PolSci at History yung course nila (nung wala pa si Chai) kaya they are considered the RedBolt room. Next is Room 2, Kami yun, Si Ana, Loyd, Bjorn at Ako. Skimmers Room, kasi obviously we’re all Skimmers, and as expected, yung room naming yung sentro nang chikahan, chismisan at kung anu-ano pang gusto mong malaman. Pag nag-uusap kami, abot hanggang boys’ wing kaya nalalaman nila ang aming mga sikreto. Next yung Room 3, Sila Cheska, Meika, Essa, at Gayle, mix na Skimmers tska Redbolts naman sila. Yung room nila yung laging parang walang tao kasi their residents are always in the other rooms. Haha. And of Course, yung Room 5, sila Ate Wina, Ate Kriz, Ate Care, tsaka Ate Ramona.
Sino ba naman ang mag-aakala na magkakasundo ang lahat? Acquaintance Party pa lang, todo bonding na. Because of our performance, we were tagged as “Mga Bugaw”, though we don’t really take it into the literal context noh. From then on kasi halos lahat nang mga performance namin, theme or whatsoever ay sexy at daring, so it just suited us. I don’t really remember how we became close, pero naging super close talaga kami lahat. Para bang, we were really meant to be together. Very supportive talaga ang lahat sa isa’t isa. If mayroong nangangailangan nang damit, or sapatos, notes, laptop, or kung anu-ano pa, ready talagang magpahiram yung iba. If may event or kung ano man na nangangailangan nang presence namin, go ka agad. Uso roomhop sa amin (kahit bawal). At maraming iba pang bawal ang na break namin pero secret na lang yun.
We were also the most controversial wing sa buong dorm. Kami lang ata ang na police line na wing. Hindi pwedeng makalabas or makapasok ang kahit sino sa wing namin. (hindi ko na sasabihin kung bakit kasi sensitive J )We also had our fights. Yung kami-kami tsaka yung sa mga taga-labas. Pag may nang away kasi sa isa, kaaway niya na lahat. Yes, we had issues, but we resolved them and became better people afterwards. Nagugulat na nga lang minsan yung ibang tao na nag-aaway na pala ang annex, hindi lang nila alam. Magaling kasi kaming umarte. Hahaha.
Kahit pasaway kami, the uppclass have always been there for us. They are always ready to listen to our problems, chikka, or kahit magkwentuhan about how are day went lang and for that Thank You so much. And of course, let’s not forget the friends we met outside of Annex.
Annex, we’re the best! \m/
And the rest. . . . was not History. But a friendship that will last.

The Wing Wars: Boys Vs Girls
The aftermath of the Wing Wars. |
When the event was gonna start, we realized that our wing(Upperwing boys), is short on ammo maybe just around 25. There, we decided that Xerxes has to buy more dye so that we can create more ammo but sadly, there was no more time. What we did? We asked for 2 pieces of ammo from the Upperwing Girls since there ammo is concentrated for our standards. We mixed those concentrated ammos with more water, the result? It was like we were just throwing ice water. Hahahaha!
We even tried to intimidate the freshmen by shouting: "Walang kuya-kuya ngayon ah! Walang upperclass-upperclass!"
The rules were set. Teams were organized. Upperwing Boys, Lowerwing Boys and the whole girls wing ended up in a triple threat match. Without any delay, the war started.
It started out just fine. The first to have an exchange of fire were the girl's wing and the lowerwing boys. We used that as a diversion and went closer to the girls. I threw my first ammo but suddenly..

..SOMEBODY STARTLED THE WITCH!
I don't know if I'll laugh or be concerned about this abrupt change of behavior by the girls. I didn't have time to ponder upon it because I am still in the middle of the war. We kept on laughing but the attacks keep coming. We still continued firing like it was raining water plastic bags. It was like this:
Then, when we hit someone it was something like this:
But after every hit, this literally happens:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! All I could do was laugh. After the announcement of winner, the feeling of anger was still present in the atmosphere. I could even still smell the blood stain in the air.I heard a lot of curses even though the war already ended. Some even said that there will be a different dorm for boys and a different dorm for girls. It was funny because I know all of them were being carried by their emotions.
Despite the fact that most of them are still emotional, I heard a statement that interested me.
"Guys! ang activities guys, gin-obra ni siya para mag-bonding kita, indi kay sa mag-inaway pa kita!" -Efren
Anyway, after just a few moments, everyone went to the center of the football field and formed a big circle (as you can see in the first picture of this post) and sang At the Beginning. They had a group hug after the song and continued picture taking. It's a good thing that it ended very well without any regrets and full of enjoyment.
"Are they ready for another round of Wing Wars?"
Our beloved Upperclassmen, you will always be remembered.
Balay Lampirong's Upperclassmen
A.Y. 2011-2012
"Perhaps Balay Lampirong will not be Hall 1 nor Castillo del Placuna Placenta if not for these people." -Kuya RexClick here |
One evening during my freshmen year while walking from CAS, Kuya Kyle introduced mo to an Alumni who is also an upperclass at dorm when he was at UP. He was Kuya JR Macahilas. Our encounter went something like this:
Kuya JR: So, kumusta naman ang mga upperclass sa dorm? How are they?
Kuya JR looked at Kuya Kyle and so I looked at Kuya Kyle also. Kuya Kyle has this awkward smile in his face that made me curious but after awhile, I realized the situation at hand. Kuya JR was expecting that the upperclassmen in the dorm should have been performing well in Hall-1. Kuya Kyle then put a glare on me telling me to tell Kuya JR something positive.
At that point, I didn't know what to tell Kuya JR. Should I pull a joke on Kuya Kyle and tell him that the upperclassmen were a disaster? Or should I sugarcoat everything I say about them? I was practically speechless. I did not utter a word but laughed because both of them were also laughing. Nagmukha tuloy akong tanga dahil wala akong masagot sa simpleng tanong.
That time I thought, what was the right answer to that question?
The people in the picture are the ones who put sugar, spice and everything nice during our stay in Balay Lampirong. Let us meet them one by one now. You can also click their names so that it will direct you to their facebook profile.
Name: Wina Irah Basister
Batch: 2009-2010
The head of the upperclassmen during my stay in my freshmen year(2011-2012). Honestly, I didn't know she was the head until in my second year in the dorm. Who would've thought the she was the head since she is very cute, in the sense.
Don't be deceived by her size, she has the mouth that keeps talking. On the bright side, anything that goes out of her mouth is meaningful and sensible.
Another thing, she is running for Cum Laude.
Trivia: Despite her height, she is the oldest of all the upperclassmen.
Name: Karl Pagsuberon
Batch: 2009-2010
On the following academic year which is 2012-2013, he became the head of the upperclassmen.
Kuya Karl is the one who always invites us to play DoTA, Basketball, Volleyball, Dinner that turns into a session, Football (obviously), etc. The amazing thing about it is he even makes hagad to us kahit hell week. Amazing, isn't it?
He also is the one that always sneaks the goods. If you know what I mean ;)
Name: Kyle CastaƱares
Batch: 2009-2010
Kuya kyle is noisiest and chubbiest upperclass in the dorm. I want to use the word fat but since this is not for me but for them, I'll be nicer.
He is always the one that initiates loveteams in the dorm. According to him, it is the real purpose of the upperclassmen which I think is true. Joke. There is this other thing about him. I don't know what his problem is, but he always shouts when he talks to you.
The good thing about him is when you need someone to talk to or a companion, he will be one.
Name: Kriz Angeli Sancez
Batch: 2010-2011
"Shit! Nindota sa awards uy! grabe effort ba! pila ka ha ila gasto ani? asa kaha sila nagpahimo ani?"
That was my first impression during the Acquaintance party 2011. I didn't know by that time that it was Ate Kriz who made those awards glamorous. I didn't thought that she has a great sense of art. I thought she was just the silent and mediocre type but I stand corrected. She is also humorous but becomes serious when the situation demands it.
Name: Ramona Salez Diaz
Batch: 2010-2011
Ate Ramona is the one who influenced me to play volleyball. She always invites dormers to play volleyball every afternoon through the paging system. Without her, I might not be playing with volleyball and have friendships with other volleyball enthusiasts.
Although she is not a JPC, she acts like one and which is already more than good enough.
Name: Jastine Aglobo
Batch: 2010-2011
Ate Jastine is the nicest upperclass in the dorm. But that's just my opinion, who am I to judge? Hahaha.
One thing I won't forget about her is that she is musically talented. I was thrilled when I heard her play the song River flows in you by Yiruma. When I first heard it, I went running around our wing and looked for it but nothing. When I tried to look around more, I saw ate Jastine playing it. And I was stunned because I thought she only plays modern songs but yet she played Yiruma.
Not a JPC, but also acts like one.
Name: Caressa Antipuesto
Batch: 2010-2011
Taray. That was my first impression on ate Caressa. She walks past the hallways of the dorm and releases a very terrifying aura. I feel panicked whenever shes around. The feeling that she could devour you anytime. *shivers* Hahaha. Joke lang Ate Caressa. XD
If she flashes you that smile of hers, you'll know that she is not that of a maldita. If you get to know her more, you will realize that there is a reason for that aura of hers. She might just be stressed of all the Academic Load she is undergoing. She even stays awake until morning just to study! Idol!
Despite her pissed-off facial expression, inside of her is a sweet, soft-hearted woman.
Name: Von Jonatius PiƱano
Batch: 2010-2011
Bitch. That is not my first impression, that is my perspective of Kuya Von until now. Hahahaha. Peace!
Kuya Von is just like Kuya Karl, a gamer. He even made a private server of FlyFF. He was the GM and only 5 of us were playing. The five consists of three upperclassmen and two freshmen.
He is a spoiled brat, even he admits it himself. Nong Larry even called him 'Lawlaw' because he can't carry the water container. HAHAHAHA!
And my favorite upperclassman of the dorm..

..our House Council Adviser! :D
Batch: 2010-2011
The picture speaks for itself.
If you think that being an Upperclass in Hall-1 is a privilege well then you are partly right. Being one doesn't mean that everything is going to be fun and you go through the Hall-1 Experience again. I have been an upperclass in the dorm for already one semester now and I tell you, I have sacrificed a lot. Now I know how my upperclassmen felt and experienced every time they handle a freshman batch.
"With great powers, comes great responsibility." -Uncle Ben, Spider-Man
Being part of the Upperclassmen are both a privilege and a responsibility. For that selfless service in Balay Lampirong, I salute you all!
Now I realized that I did not just become speechless when Kuya JR asked his question. Hindi lang pala ako nagmukhang tanga. Surprisingly, I answered him just quite right!
You might be wondering how I answered his question, but more importantly, how did I get it right? What were the words I used to answer the question right?
Well, it's simple. I did not use any flowering words. You know why? Because no words can describe the efforts, hardships, and endeavors of the upperclassmen. They were more than amazing, more than great, more than anything else. They were the best upperclassmen Balay Lampirong has to offer. The upperclassmen they ought to be.
Last year, we might not have thank you enough for the efforts you have done for our batch but I believe everything's not yet too late that's why right now, I made this post dedicated to all of you.
Thank you for being part of my Freshmen Year. Without you, I might not be the Ace I am right now. The batch we are right now. Again, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you! You will always be remembered!
"You will always be remembered. Always."

The Reincarnation of the Blogspot!
hall1.blogspot.com |
*Cheers if you were brought here via the old blogspot!*
(If not, then rejoice for no reason at all!)
(If not, then rejoice for no reason at all!)
These are the headers of the old blogsite and were created by the great elders of hall-1. The great elders I'm referring to are the past alumni of hall-1.
It has been two years and 8 days when the last post was created in hall1.blogspot.com. I know it's been too long but that will change today.
It has been two years and 8 days when the last post was created in hall1.blogspot.com. I know it's been too long but that will change today.
Anyway, the old blog still lives. The old posts are still there and you can still go check it out. I made this new one because the old blog was already outdated. I want the lampirong.blogspot.com to be active like hall1.blogspot.com but since that blog has an old interface, I decided to have a new one which has the updated interface. I also took into consideration that the old blog has a great sentimental value to the past hall-1 dormers that is why I will be putting a link to direct them to the old blogspot if ever they wanted the vintage posts. Hahahaha!
Of course before I made this new one, we asked for the blessing of our great elders. Namely Kuya Pio, Kuya Justin, Mamita, Mama Redd, Ate, Rhonax, Ate Wina, et al.
Of course before I made this new one, we asked for the blessing of our great elders. Namely Kuya Pio, Kuya Justin, Mamita, Mama Redd, Ate, Rhonax, Ate Wina, et al.
The old blog was created years ago. I think it was on January 1, 2006 that the blog started because the first post was published that day. It was about the guestbook and has 213 comments until today. Comments from alumni of hall-1. Great, isn't it?
I hope this blog will be successful as the old one. I also hope that everyone will contribute to this site especially my batch mates because our batch(2011-2012) was the only batch that didn't have any entry in the old blogspot and I don't want to happen to this succeeding batch(2012-2013). That is why even though I'm already at my second year and our batch in hall-1 had already ended its turn of the Hall-1 Experience, I still want to contribute the memories of our batch and other succeeding batches to Holwan.
I know we should have took action when the blog was dead, but I believe we could still compensate for that loss.

This will be the new official blogspot of Balay Lampirong. KUDOS! :D
